With the Salifert Profi Test NO³ you can determine the Nitrate content in freshwater oder seawater exactly and easily. A too high nitrate concentration can result in unwanted algae-growth and these might irritate corals in their neighborhood. Nitrate as such also retards coral growth. The nitrate concentration in a proper functioning reef aquarium should preferably be lower than 1 mg/L. Fish-only aquariums would usually show much higher nitrate concentrations. Most test kits use a procedure in which a certain part of nitrate is converted chemically into nitrite and is measured as such. The very special ingredients in the Salifert Profi-Test NO³ -Nitrate- allow a very fast and precise measurement.
The Salifert Profi Test pH is sufficient for 60 tests in freshwater or seawater.

The HI781 Checker® HC (Handheld Colorimeter) is a simple, accurate and cost-effective way to measure pH in saltwater.
Nitrates are a by-product in the nitrogen cycle. Elevated amounts of nitrates in reef aquariums can cause the growth of undesirable organisms such as algae and dino-flagellates, while deficiency of this compound can lead to starvation where SPS and other corals will show loss of color or paleness.
General characteristics
The Checker HI781 pocket colorimeter uses the Lambert-Beer principle to determine nitrate concentration colorimetrically. The HI781 is designed specifically for low nitrate levels in saltwater aquariums. The range of 0.00 to 5.00 is ideal for reef aquarium maintenance.

The HI780 Checker® HC (Handheld Colorimeter) is a simple, accurate and cost-effective way to measure pH in salt water.
pH is a measure of the concentration of hydrogen ions in water. The higher the concentration, the more acidic the water. A neutral pH is 7 (most fish can live in a general range between 6 and 8). Keeping an aquarium’s pH stable and in optimal ranges reduces stress on your fish and aquatic animals, helping them resist diseases and tolerate other stressors. Maintaining an ideal pH can also dramatically improve the growth, behavior, and overall appearance of marine wildlife.
The Checker® HI774 portable colorimeter offers a simple, fast and accurate way to measure phosphate in aquariums, marine systems, including coral reef tanks. Phosphate is an important parameter to measure in aquaculture and aquariums. Levels that are too high can lead to excessive algae growth, deplete dissolved oxygen levels, and can ultimately be fatal to many types of fish and aquatic life.
The pocket nitrite meter in seawater, Checker HANNA HI764, is a digital colorimeter to perform nitrite tests. The HI764 seawater nitrite checker is supplied with cuvettes with lids (2), reagent for 6 tests, battery, instructions and a quick guide to use.
Nitrites are an intermediate form of nitrogen, produced when ammonia is converted to nitrate during the nitrogen cycle. When organic matter decomposes, ammonia is produced. The highly toxic ammonia is converted to nitrite by bacteria, and nitrite is converted to nitrate by other bacteria. Nitrite is dangerous to aquatic life if it builds up, causing tissue damage that can lead to illness and death.
The HI 764 Checker Nitrite Meter sits in the middle between simple colorimetric test kits and professional photometers. This nitrite checker is accurate and economical. This nitrite tester offers a resolution of 1 ppb and an accuracy of ± 10 ppb ± 4% of the reading.
It has a very comfortable design. It fits in the palm of your hand and you can carry it in your pocket perfectly. In addition, its LCD screen is large and easy to read. Its automatic shut-off ensures that battery life does not run out if you forget to turn it off.

Having a reliable and easy to use potassium test kit is hard to come by. Salifert test kits have been trusted by discerning reefers for years for their ease of use and reliability. Many other test kits are hard to use and consume your valuable time. The average test using this kit should easily take under 5 minutes and give you a reading that can be repeated time and time again.
If you are dosing potassium, the ability to monitor and measure how much you are adding is invaluable. Potassium levels in natural seawater is normally around 400 ppm. Many reefers will report loss of coloration in corals when potassium level start to drop below 360 ppm.
With the Salifert Profi Test PO4 you can determine the Phosphate content in freshwater oder seawater exactly and easily. Phosphate also blocks or retards the growth of corals and calcareous algae. One of the scientific studies shows that a phosphate concentration higher than 0.05 mg/L decreases the growth of calcareous algae by 90%! The Salifert phosphate test already detects, within seconds, 0.015 mg/L of phosphate. This makes phosphate measurement highly reliable and informative allowing timely measures to be taken. The Salifert Profi Test PO4 -Phospahte- can perform approx. 60 measurements.
The Salifert Profi Test pH is a water test kit specially designed for controlling the pH value in marine water aquaria. You can determine the pH value in the range of pH 7.4 to 8.6 exactly. The Salifert Profi Test pH is sufficient for 50 tests in seawater.
The Salifert Profi Test NO² -Nitrite- is for the exact and determine of the Nitrite content in freshwater, seawater, osmosis water or water from garden pond. Nitrite is a substance that is very toxic to fish and invertebrates. It is a misconception that once a tank is through its cycle (first 3 or 4 weeks) that nitrite has vanished. Nitrite is converted to nitrate in properly cycled aquariums. The thus formed nitrate is transformed into harmless nitrogen gas (=denitrification). This happens in areas deprived of oxygen within live rock and miscellaneous filter materials. Before it can be transformed to nitrogen gas the nitrate is first converted back to nitrite. When for whatever reason this particular cycle can not be completed, toxic nitrite can be present in significant concentration and readily be detected by test kits that do not suffer from amine interference.
With the Salifert Profi Test Mg you can determine the Magnesium content in seawater exactly and easily. Calcium and strontium will not interfere the test, when their total concentration is between 300 and 500 mg/l. This is mostly the case. Natural sea water has a magnesium concentration of approx. 1300 – 1500 mg/l. The concentration varies with salinity. Too low magnesium concentration makes maintaining corect calcium and alkalinity concentration difficult. The Salifert Profi Test Mg -Magnesium- can perform approx. 50 measurements in marinewater. It measures in sufficient accurate steps of 30 mg/L with a sharp color change.
With the Salifert Profi Test Si you can determine the Silicate content in freshwater oder seawater exactly and easily. Silicate occurs especially in tap water or in purified water when the RO or DI unit is not functioning properly. Silicate not only results in diatom bloom but might also block some essential trace elements such as vanadium and molybdenum. For freshwater, please do not use tapwater or osmosis water with more than 2 mg/l silicate content. In seawater the silicate content should not be determined with these test kit. The Salifert Profi Test Si -Silicate- is for approx. 60 tests in seawater or freshwater. The range is 0.03 – 30 ppm as SiO2.
